UK Managers Participating In A Good Cause

From UK athletics.com

LEXINGTON, KY. - In conjunction with the Markey Cancer Foundation, the equipment managers for the University of Kentucky men's basketball team are currently participating in "No-Shave for November" to raise awareness for prostate cancer.

Beginning Nov. 1, Will Barton, Mark Evans, Robert Hatchett, Zach Lipson, Will Martin, Brett Miller and Andrew Ortelli have not shaved and will continue the trend through the remainder of the month of November. This is the first year the staff has participated in "No-Shave for November" to raise awareness for prostate cancer.

"No-Shave November is often celebrated, but many don't know that it was originally established by a group of men to raise awareness for prostate cancer," Martin said.

"When I brought the idea to our group about the cancer cause, we all wanted to grow them as a group. You often hear Coach Cal talk about the 'Kentucky Effect' and the tremendous impact of the platform set by our  programs tradition and fans. This 'Kentucky Effect' is not only patterned by success on the playing field, but also in the community. By not shaving for the entire month of November, we as managers hope to utilize the platform that comes with being a part of a program like Kentucky basketball to raise money for such an amazing cuse."
