A Fresh Start...

Radford Head Coach Mike Jones
Kate Lee -> Radford Manager

It all started my senior year of high school at Norfolk Christian High School. My mom was the Women's Old Dominion Basketball Manager when she was in college so it gave me the idea to be a manager and be part of a sport I love. Working for Norfolk Christian's Varsity Boy's Basketball team was a GREAT experience and really helped me prepare for my position as a college basketball manager. We also won the VISAA Division II State Championship that year, which culminated our success and hard work that season.

After graduation, I chose to attend Radford University. I liked the small school feel yet it offered Division I athletics. I met with the Director of Basketball Operations and was offered a position to be one of the managers. I was very blessed to have been one of the Radford men's basketball managers my freshman year. I was introduced to the Division I basketball world quickly! Filming practice, keeping stats, bringing equipment out, working the clock, rebounding and helping out in the office were just a few things I did as a manager.

As I am entering my sophomore year at Radford, I have a better grasp of what's expected. I am encouraged to return and put in the hours necessary to assist my team this coming season. Radford men's basketball finds itself with an unusual circumstance of an entire new coaching staff. I look forward to meeting and working with the new coaches and excited to see what the new season brings!

Kate - best of luck with the new coaching staff. Some people will look at change as -"Ugh, things will never be what they once were." It sounds as though you have the right mind set though. Keep in touch with the NACBM and spread the word for us. Keep us updated on how the season goes.
