After a bizarre October blizzard stormed the Northeast this past Saturday and put the state of New York and New Jersey in a state of weather emergency, the Marist men's basketball team still traveled to Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday to take part in the first scrimmage of the new season. It was an exciting time for the team, especially for the four freshman, as it marked their first time getting on to a Division I basketball bus and playing against other Division I competition. Upon arriving in New Jersey, you could sense that this will be an exciting year, as everyone had positive energy and is eager to get the season underway. Marist came out strong to start the scrimmage and eventually won 75-74. Sophomore center Adam Kemp lead the way for the Red Foxes as he scored 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, while junior guard Devin Price finished with 14 points, and Dorvell Carter added 15. Marist's next scrimmage will be this Saturday November 5th when we host Monmouth University.
Our managerial crew also played a pivotal role in the scrimmage and was on top of everything from the starting whistle to the final whistle. Great job Marist managers!
